Getaway Brigade

Welcome to Day 2 of our weeklong gift guide extravaganza! Every day this week, we’re publishing a new post of travel-related gift ideas for the special people in your life. Today we’re showing you some gift ideas for the techies you love.

Okay, this isn’t for “techies” so much as it’s for, um…anyone who travels with electronic devices—that is to say, everyone. (Hey, “techies” sounds better than “everyone who depends on electronic devices in order to live.”)

1. Power bank.
Bryce and I each have our own power banks. They are the BEST. I shouldn’t even have to explain why. Just get yourself and everyone you love a power bank. Do it. The one above is by Anker, but Amazon has a whole bunch.

2. Universal power adapter.
This is not the sexiest gift you could give, admittedly, but it’s a great thing to have for anyone who travels internationally. Outlets are different in different countries (why?!?!), and no one wants to be caught being unable to plug anything in. They do sell specific country-to-country adapters, but why bother? The universal adapter I picked up before my trip to Austria has saved our butts so many times.

3. Travel surge protector/power strip.
These are so great. My mom has one. Bryce has one. Hotel rooms tend to not come with enough outlets for all your stuff, and having one hub where you can charge everything in one place makes life so. much. easier. The Belkin one comes with USB outlets and is a surge protector to boot.

3. Gadget organizer/Grid-It.
You have to have a system for transporting and organizing all your devices and their cords. Some people may prefer a pouch with separated pockets; others may prefer the Grid-It system. Your call.
