Welcome to our weekly series, the Sunday Bucket List! Every Sunday, we’ll share with you a place we’ve never visited but plan to see someday. Click here for all of our Sunday Bucket List posts. You guys! Did you know that there is a luxury suite inside of Disneyland that cannot be booked for any sum of money?
I’m not making this up. It’s real, it exists, and I would hazard a guess that most people reading this post won’t ever get to see the inside of it in real life. (Unless the vacation gods give us the power to give ourselves and every single Getaway Brigade reader a stay—that would be nice.)
It’s called the Disneyland Dream Suite. It’s based on plans that Walt Disney made himself but wasn’t constructed until 2007, and it’s not a place you can just book online. You either have to be really lucky and win a stay or…I’m guessing be someone very important and maybe very rich? Or at least very well-connected?
It’s located right above Pirates of the Caribbean,
presumably so you can sit on your private balcony and sneer at the plebeians standing in line for the ride, where you get your own prime viewing spot for the “Fantasmic!” show.
It’s not just the exclusivity that makes the Dream Suite a huge draw for me. It’s also that the Dream Suite is, to date, the nicest freaking place at which you could possibly stay during your Disneyland vacation. We’ve stayed at all three of the Disneyland resort hotels so far (we are such special snowflakes, yes we are) and the Dream Suite, from the photos alone, blows them all out of the water.
There are two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room, a generous patio, and the aforementioned balcony. And this is what one of the bedrooms looks like:
And this is the tub in the master bath, complete with an illuminated starry sky:
It’s so beautiful. If you want to see and read more about the sheer luxury of this place, just look at this photo tour. Not only are the rooms ridiculously ornate, they all come with little surprises.
Oh, and if you stay in the Dream Suite, you get to roam Disneyland at night in your pajamas. For real.
One day, I will stay in the Dream Suite. Mark my words.
